Denholme Velvets Area

Shopping at Aldi, Halifax this morning was followed by a short drive out to park near Denholme Velvets for a couple of hours on a birding walk.

It was very warm to start and toooo warm later but quite rewarding non the less.

Most of the afternoon was spent indoors keeping cool, too hot to handle for wimps like me.

Birds:-

2 Raven, Red Legged Partridge calling.

Partridge sp flushed early, very little 'red' on tail end, no call and it glided a long way before landing out of sight.

Meadow Pipit, Reed Bunting and Curlew calling.

Pied Wagtail.

Top of the shop was Stonechat with at least 5 seen, including a juv.

Always great to see.

Not much moving over the garden late evening... 25 Lesser Black-backed Gulls circling high over Halifax.

It would appear that I've been found guilty of using too many commas in my blogs .

My solicitor tells me that I can expect a very long sentence.

Good Nightjar weather?
