A miserable drizzly morning saw me have a run over to Ogden to check for DJS's Common Redstart seen recently nr. the golf course area.
I spent about an hour having a mosey around the area in quite wet drizzle, not ideal conditions.
Not much hereabouts really, and no sign of the Redstart alas.
I walked back to the water and did a circuit, bumping into NK along the way.
Birds:-
Nine Cormorant, drying their wings on the east side rocks.
c80 Gulls 80 / 20 Lesser Black-backed / Black Headed.
A couple of Common and a few, 5 ish, Herring Gulls.
4 Oystercatcher flying over the north of the golf course.
Dipper in the dark sluice area.
2 Jay, Whitethroat calling.
Pied Wagtail feeding a young bird.
Linnet, Bullfinch, Swallow , Song Thrush.
Juv. Heron in the golf course stream.
A Wrens nest in the stream wall - birds calling and parent visiting but nest was out of sight.
Chiffchaff.
Willow Warbler in the 'Common Restart' tree line.
Pheasant.
1 Lapwing along the water's edge - unusual for Ogden.
A Tawny Owl calling once from somewhere near the maintenance building was odd?
