Filey Day 3 (of 5) Wednesday 3rd August 2022

Day 3:Wednesday.

Apologies - I seem to have got my Godwits in a "knot" earlier.

Some more from our Filey holiday.

The trouble with taking lots of photos , they interfere with the birding time when you get home.

Sorting  through them all,  to find those couple of good  photos!

With the others in our party going to the beach, and not interested at all in birds, I had a 30 minute  walk to Filey Dams.

I enjoyed a chat with a few locals here and a recommendation for any excellent pie shop.

A recommendation which we took up later.

Another breezy one that got quite warm later.

Later with the tide just on the turn, ideal birding time allegedly, I had another Brigg top path saunter.

Birds:

Brigg Top Path:

The sun was a dazzling ball in the east, distorting the view across the Brigg rocks, and both this and the distance made things awkward (Excuse 27).

3 dunlin and 1 redshank in the Brigg pond.

A light coloured Wagtail -  a Juv. Pied Wag.

3 Dunlin, 1 Turnstone and a Redshank distant on the lower rocks.

Gannet and lots of Kittiwake.

Dams:

16 Black Tailed Godwit.

Little Ringed Plover.

Teal.

Oystercatcher.

2 Snipe.

Teal.

Shoveler.

Kestrel. Greylag Geese.

A Buzzard passed over the nearby houses as I walked back to the caravan park.
