Day 4:Thursday.
I had yet another walk along the Brigg top path this morning.
This time I thought I got the timing spot on:-
Tide turned 1 hour ago, rocks now showing and some coastline.
No 'tourists - except me!' with no access on the sea-side path with the water still high.
and you guessed it - nothing much!
Cormorants and probably a Shag but too distant for me to say really.
'Usual' birds again today.
Seal.
A solitary large black and white 'Awk?" on the rocks.
The Guillemots and Razorbills have left now.
Day 5:Friday.
Vamoose day today.
Short visit this a.m. to the Brigg.
Poss. Juv. Yellow Wagtail.
5 Common Scoter.
Great Black-backed Gull - actually near enough to ID.
20 or so Oystercatcher flew past.
Mega distant birds on the rocks that look a a bit Golden Plover like could well be Dunlin, the photo at the distance not being much help?
I noticed looking at the photo that the GBBG has a leg ring that I cannot read.
Lack of birds:-
I had a chat to 2 long serving local Filey birders on 2 occasions during the week as I was walking along the top of the Brigg and they both were of the opinion that bird numbers were way down on what we should expect from what they had seen here in previous years.
Presumably Avian Flu being the culprit.
With special thanks to NK.
Day 4.
