Bradshaw to Cross Roads (Above Keighley) and Local

Late morning we got togged up (ready for the forecast downpours) and decided to walk from home to Cross Roads (Above Keighley).

Some of the walk follows the Bronte Way.

Our route was through the local farm buildings to Ned Hill along Ogden Lane. up Back Lane to start the long slog up to pass near Oxenhope Reservoir (TMR).

Then some pleasant, well earned, downhill to pass Leeming Reservoir and along the road to Oxenhope Co-op, where an ice lolly was very refreshing.

A right turn just before Oxenhope Railway Station to follow the stream all the way into Haworth.

Along the road to Haworth Railway Station where a left turn over the bridge to Bronte Bridge Café.

All day breakfast (£5!) was (just) still on offer and normally this is not on my menu but today I broke a few rules and enjoyed one!

Sue looked on (in envy?) as she ate a toasted current teacake.

After 'breakfast' we continued up the road to Cross Roads to wait for the 502 Keighley - Halifax bus.

With the high fuel prices our 'old fogies' bus pass is a real boon.

The weather was extremely kind with just some light drizzle to start and then bright with some sunshine for the rest of the walk. The togs made for some great perspiration!!

No bins or camera and no real birding on the long walk.

Birds:-

Raven.

38 Red Legged Partridge.

One Red Grouse (Heard).

2 Buzzard.

Local Fields:-

Kestrel, 2 Little Owl.

Top of the Hill - Oxenhope Reservoir (TMR)

The start of the downhill - Leeming Reservoir in the distance.

Leeming - A tad nearer.
