Red Kite (Garden) & Ogden

A mixed bag of weather today, mild with sunny periods then heavy thundery downpours.

I had a look outside late morning during a heavy downpour and a Red Kite drifted over - nice!!

This afternoon I got togged up and made the short drive over to Ogden and my timing was purr-feck missing all the nasty, noisy wet stuff.

That's not like me at all, I normally get drenched!

Birds:-

Red Kite - nice garden tick.

Mistle Thrush on a pylon.

A slow walk around the Ogden Water and some decent scanning of the amazing amount of shoreline did not reveal a lot, alas.

The usual Gulls were down in numbers to my last visit.

1 Tufted Duck, 2 Cormorant.

4 Great Spotted Woodpecker (3 heard and 1 seen).

2 Grey Wagtail.

Goldcrest.

Treecreeper.

Bullfinch and Chaffinch together.

Nuthatch, Chiffchaff.

and a few other species.

Loads of birds contact calling around the circuit but I didn't see many of 'em.

A Peregrine was seen earlier.
