Denholme Boundary Walk

I had a run out to one of my favourite places for a relaxing bird walk this afternoon.

I parked near Denholme Velvets and had a leisurely stroll along a few bridleways there.

A mild cloudy day that at one time went very black and threatened some heavy rain.

Donning the waterproof gear must have scared the clouds off because it remained dry.

A mostly quiet saunter, interrupted periodically by the odd bird sighting!

Birds:-

c50 Meadow Pipit, c40 Goldfinch.

3 Raven,  Very distant Wheatear, Cormorant.

Reed Bunting, Red Legged Partridge (Calling).

Stock Dove.

A Curlew landed in a field north of Thornton Rd (Opposite Soil Hill bottom).

3 Distant "Chats" - one a Whinchat.

(the photo isn't great).

A Pr. Peregrine were seen on our trip to take Emma out to Weatherspoon's Sowerby Bridge for 'breakfast' this Morning.
