Elland to Brighouse

Beautifully warm and sunny in the garden this morning after a cold start.

Late morning I enjoyed a walk along the canal and river from Elland Bridge to Brighouse (Avocet Works).

It was colder here to start with than at home, with the canal being in the shade (unusual for home to be warmer than here)!

The river path however was in dappled sunlight, quite warm and very picturesque.

The canal path was busy with walkers out enjoying the good weather.

(I gave the feeding area a miss today).

Some East in the wind direction for the next 3 days, might blow something tasty our way?

Birds:-

10 Mute Swan. 2 Nuthatch. 3 Jay.

4 Moorhen.

A few gulls difficult to see in glare ,through the railings, on the ski lake.

1 Goosander. 2 Heron.

12 Cormorant. Bullfinch.

Grey Wagtail.

(9 Squirrel).

Goosander  flushed from a very gloomy riverside
