It was a very pleasant mild morning with some sunshine as I enjoyed a walk, along the canal and river Calder, from Elland Bridge to Avocet works at Brookfoot.
Some decent bird sightings as well today, (mostly seen at the end of the walk) made for a satisfying birding trip.
I did not stop at the feeders today.
A sad sight of a Mallard with a really awkward broken wing, seen near the far Ski Lake banking.
Birds:-
7 Mute Swan, 7 Goosander (probably some repeat sightings).
Long Tailed Tit all over the shop.
30 Jackdaw, 14 Canada Geese.
2 Pied Wagtail, Distant Buzzard.
Nuthatch (heard), Jay.
Sparrowhawk ???, 5 Cormorant.
Herring, Common and Black Headed Gulls.
Heron. Coal Tit.
Little Grebe, Kingfisher, Dipper.
4 Moorhen, Grey Wagtail.
and .... a few other sp.
Lots of planes overhead late afternoon, seen from the garden, but not many birds.
Nice Dipper John.
ReplyDeleteCheers Dave.. I normally get one of the 3 (Dipper, Little Grebe, Kingfisher) not all three, which was a good do. John
