A truly awful morning with heavy rain and dense fog here.
This afternoon the rain persisted but Ogden was below the misty stuff so I donned the wellie bobs and had a squelch around the reservoir path.
The bins and camera were awkward to keep dry but with some decent waterproof gear on, it was bearable and not cold... beats doing the Xword!
Not much here really but a pr. Teal were distant in the gloom and later on a few more Teal were dragged out of the murk by my bins.
Possible 5 Teal but they were always very distant as I walked round.
Other than the Teal just Mallard and a few Gulls on the water.
One mega distant very poor photo, that I dragged out on the laptop shows a Widgeon.
Plenty of contact calls from the trees / bushes and Great, Blue, Long Tailed and Coal Tits were seen.
Also Goldfinch and Chaffinch.
A Treecreeper was very brown climbing north on the bark of a dark tree.
C250 Fieldfare flew > N over head during a heavy shower.
I pointed the camera skyward and was rewarded with some fantastic wet blobs instead of birds.
Applying Picasa's Auto Contrast to the photo does reveal some black dots!
Nearing the car park some of the Fieldfare had turned back and landed above the car park.
Probably checking into the "Hotel Conifer" (Old Eagles Hit) for the night... who can blame them?
212 Starlings (Counted from a photo) were on Pavement Lane telephone wires this a.m.
