Ogden and Bradshaw Fields

A run over to Denholme Velvets this afternoon was abandoned due to my parking area being fenced off by contractors.

It would appear that some new housing project is on the way?

So, I opted for Ogden where it was mega quiet again.

The water is slowly returning to "better" levels with the 'peninsular' now under water.

A bit of excitement for me, with the sighting of a Buzzard, with what looked like a white rump, being mobbed by Crows over the promenade area.

Some photos and some grapevine - ing resulted in the bird being ID'd as ...... A Buzzard.

Looks like my potential lifer will have to wait a bit longer,

Other than the Buzzard excitement nothing new here, just the usual Gull species seen.

A couple of Common Gulls looked a bit 'dopey' hope its fatigue and nothing more sinister.

Later, I had a short walk up the local Bradshaw fields, but the walk was spoilt a bit by light rain.

A Kestrel was distant and a Little Owl was on a wall.

Just Common Gulls passing over towards Ogden.

6 Partridge species flushed on fairly quiet wingbeats, were over the hill before I could blink - no photo alas.

I forgot to mention that the Raggalds Flood had some water in it, after the heavy rain the other day. It's all dried up again now, alas.

  2. An exciting, short lived, moment! The photo I posted on the grapevine turned out to be a tad "misleading" compared to the others..when I cropped them on the laptop. Great. though, to get instant feedback. I wss thinking 2 LBBG and a Common Gull on the right of the photo. Thanks for the comment.. we are due some wildfowl soon! Cheers John
