Towards Holdsworth / Swalesmoor

A great day for a walk today and while Sue was making marmalade I had a slow stroll through Bradshaw Park and along a bit of the Calderdale Way long distance footpath.

This afternoon I had a run over to Swalesmoor and a walk up Ringby Lane / Top in the sunshine.

Some clouds did appear and there was a cool breeze but it was good to be out and about.

The gritter passed along Swalesmoor Road as I returned to the car.

Birds:

Towards Holdsworth:

Green Woodpecker, Redwing, Pheasant, Jay.

and others.

Ringby Lane / Top:

A good selection of birds on the feeders at the start of the lane included

Greenfinch, Chaffinch and Goldfinch with the usual House Sparrows here calling to each other.

A very light coloured Great Tit was seen higher up the lane.

The walk over the top was pretty quiet with the usual plethora of Crows with c20 Common Gulls and a Herring Gull.

Top of the shop was a Reed Bunting in a distant tree. Unfortunately it vamoosed very quickly (if it's from Lapland I can't tell from the rubbish photo!!).
