We ( ?) decided to decorate the bathroom first thing this morning - Sue was brush chief wielder, while I was in charge of the sheep dip.
As we were working away, the grapevine seemed to be on fire with reports of Whooper Swan,(A.C.)more Whooper Swan, Red Kite, Water Pipit and more!
Half way through the painting job I went out to ditch some rubbish in the "Wheelie" bin and I was "Wheelie" lucky as Whooper Swan flew over the house.
I was also lucky that my camera was in the porch and I got a few photos.
I did get free around 2pm and headed off to see of the Mixenden Whoopers were still present - they were.
Good to chat to B.S. who was there when I arrived and DJS who I spoke to later.
Late afternoon I had a walk up the local fields - a cold dull day today.
Birds:-
Garden:
Whooper Swan (Probably the 56 Ogden birds seen by DJB).
3 Buzzard.
Mixenden Reservoir:
110 Whooper Swan. (I checked through the Photos for any "specials").
Chiffchaff, 2 Oystercatcher,
Drake Common Scoter.
Heron.
Bradshaw Fields:
2 Little Owl.
2 Stock Dove.
30 Woodpigeon.
2 Curlew > Soil Hill.
3 Wheatear (distant in the horse fields).
A great birding day - Whoopers are such beautiful birds to see.
