Garden Sky Watch

Emma's birthday today and this afternoon we enjoyed a bit of a party at White Windows nursing home,  with  Pete playing the guitar and ukulele and singing songs from the 60's and 70', mostly. So at least I knew what words to croak out.

Very warm and humid with some thundery showers this aft, but we didn't see many of them being inside all afternoon.

Birds: - Garden sky Watch.

Quite an enjoyable few hours sat in the garden this morning watching the sky changing colour as the thunder clouds started to form.

With the cloud cover it was a tad easier to sky gaze than yesterday's blue sky.

Raptors were the birds of the day with several passing by throughout my couple of hours looking.

It was difficult to tell how many Buzzards were seen with more than 8 separate sightings.

Anyway, there were definitely 2 separate Buzzards  at least.

Other Raptors were 2 Sparrowhawk and a Kestrel.

I don't normally see many Swifts but today they were passing > N in ones with 7 in all > N presumably avoid the thunderstorms coming from the south,

13 Swallows were seen, some staying put and some > N.

Many Lesser Black-backed Gulls floating about with just 1 Black Headed Gull identified.

A very interesting morning - I'm easy to please (in July anyway).

Difficult (Impossible for me) to get much light into the Raptor photos with the birds

always very high in the sky and not given to hanging about much.

Anyway here a few :-
