Local

Abi with us today with her school teachers on strike again, plus the very hot weather hampered my birding commitment today.

This morning I had a garden sky while while doing the X-word.

This afternoon we went down to Bradshaw Park to kick a football about and perspire a lot.

This evening I had a slow stroll up the local fields.

Still warm at 8pm.

Birds:-

Garden: 1 Black Headed Gull. 4 Lesser Black-backed Gull plus lots of Gulls

over the distant fields being mown,

5 (2,3) Swallow.

A very large Gull, called, very high > south. Picture's rubbish.

A Raven calling > SE very high caught my ear lugs.

When I did find it in the clear blue sky it was accompanied by 7 Other Raven (I think),

No squabbling or mobbing in the group so I'm thinking it might be a family on the move.

The park had 7 Swallow kicking about with others opposite the cricket club.

Local Fields:

Little Owl, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Heron.

Greenfinch, Stock Dove.

A Sparrowhawk was high and distant flew very fast towards Oats Royd bottom.

Although I'm now not sure now that it is a Sparrowhawk - no tail bands.

Wings too broad for a Peregrine?.... probably a Peregrine.
