A very wet night and early morning gave me a lie in until 9am.
The rain changed to showers as we had a drive out to visit Delavals Hall a N.T. property nearby.
Very interesting architecture and the basement rooms / cellars were very impressive.
I'm a bit of a philistine (a lot really) when it comes to history but the house was interesting, even for me. Worth the ten quid each!!
Later we drove through Blyth, then tried to park at New-Biggin-by-the-sea and although the car park was free, a sign informed us to park within the marked spaces of get a £100 fine -nice - but non of the spaces were long enough to accommodate the motorhome, which seems to be a failing on nearly all our u.k. holiday car park destinations.
We had to park on the road - which defeats the object somewhat.
Birds:
Good to see Golden Plover or 2 at New-Biggin-by-the-sea and to pick out a Med Gull from the group of Black Headed Gulls.
Back 'home' and I enjoyed a walk early evening, to St Mary's lighthouse, which revealed the same birds as seen previously.
Great Black-backed Gulls were resting on the rocks.
