Bye, Bye Summer

Summer ends tomorrow morning at 7:57 a.m. and it's been an odd one!

This morning I had someone look at me lug 'oles following the recent 'decoke' of 'em.

Sue said to the 'doctor ' . "He never hears a word I say, you know".

As if!

I hear everything Sue says but:-

"Hear All, See All, Say Nowt".

"Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt.

"And... if you do owt for nowt.. do it for thee sen"

As the saying goes (or nearly goes).

Anyway after some low beeps, some medium beeps,

some very, very high beeps and some button pressing.

It would appear that me lug oles are listening 100% accurately.. result!

I'm pondering about writing a book:-

'Exciting birding outings with Bradshaw John'

It is destined to be one of the thinnest books ever written

and I'm guessing it will make into the Guinness Book of Records -  Thin Book Sections

The weather forecast gave heavy rain for this aft.

So I sat in the sun , sky watching (Not really Viz Mig. I suppose) waiting for the rain.

I was rewarded now and again which was nice.

The rain never arrived and a second look at the forecast showed cloud, no rain.

So I went up the local fields and, yes, the rain soon sent me home again.

I had 30 minutes of time left , before dark, after tea so I had another walk up the local fields which turned out ok.

Birds:

Garden Sky Watch.

2 Sparrowhawk (1 mega high, 1 mobbed by 8 Crows over Oats Royd was great to

watch the speed of the Sparrowhawk v the pedestrian  Crows).

Also over Oats Royd a Buzzard and later a second one.

9 (1,2,6) Mistle Thrush over.

10  Swallow (7 - high and fast, 3 fast past me nose end!).

5 or so Gulls.

1 red Admiral.

Short Local Walk(s).

Grey Wagtail (Good bird for me here).

Little Owl.

Kestrel.

1 Herring Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull and c40 Small Gulls at one point in the fields.

4 Mistle Thrush flew into trees.

One other Thrush Species - possibly Song Thrush flew into nearby trees.

Chiffchaff.

c30 Meadow Pipit - good to see some good numbers again here.

Buzzard.
