Garden and Local Fields

I'm still trying to drag something special kicking and screaming from my local fields, but not today alas.

Another hot day with the skies dead most of the time.

Garden:

A half hour before tea did see some birds moving with Woodpigeon, Crows and a few Gulls passing by.

2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

5 Swallow in migration mode > s very, very fast.

Also a Raptor (probably) zipped past zigzagging going east a a lick - got a really poor photo.

I've no idea what it is - but it's probably a lifer.

Another Raptor was just on the limit of the camera in a conifer tree way over Oats Royd - probably a Sparrowhawk.

3 Buzzard appeared and drifted off west.

Local Field:-

The fields were quiet again with just a Little Owl and the odd Meadow Pipit.

The highlight of the outing was being invited to have a beer and a piece of cake (with custard yum) as I passed carpet Mick's on the way home - hence the later blog.

Another bonus, Abigail is approaching her 13th birthday and she tells me tonight that

she promised to stop patting my bald patch when she become a teenager!

Elephant Hawkmoth - Thornton Cycle Track.
Cheers Andy.

2 Photos above of zigzagging raptor.
