November limps out today with the first snow of the Autumn greeting us this morning.
Sue had an early-ish appointment in Sowerby Bridge so I had to shift some snow and put some grit down on our quite slippy drive.
Mid-morning I had a walk up to Soil Hill via a very icy Taylor Lane (good to chat to Percy Rd Ken here) .
Soil Hill was cold but very picturesque with the snow covering the grasses on the tops.
Another good look for a Snow Bunt went unrewarded.
In fact nothing much here at all, no Stonechat and even the Gulls were not in the sky over Ogden today.
I did get 3 faint bird calls in different areas of the hill.
One was ... as I was leaving Soil Hill via diagonal path down to Ned Hill Track an interesting bird call was heard.
The bird call was faint and included a 'trill' (in my words) but I could not find the bird.
So .... I live in hope.
Birds:-
Little Owl (sunbathing).
2 Blackbirds.
2 Stock Dove (Or a pair of Stock Doves seen 3 times along the walk!).
4 Wren.
4 Goldfinch.

One Common Gull.
c40 Canada Geese.
A Green Woodpecker called from the trees opposite our house before flying off west (ish).
