Stan and Olive on the buses (again)

A grand morning greeted us, cold frosty but some sunshine in among and a bus trip to Ilkley where a river walk, some shopping and lunch at "Spoons" was on the cards.

We legged in down the road to get the 10.00 a.m. (ish) bus from Bradshaw Church to Keighley and as we got to Keighley the Ilkley 62 bus was just leaving the bus station boo-hoo.

Undeterred Sue said we can still catch it,  if the traffic lights are with us.

So we legged it along the road and managed to wave it down at the first bus stop!

It took me yonks to get my breath back.

We got off the bus just on the far side of Addingham and we enjoyed a bit of a muddy walk along the river Wharf.

The river was very full and lively today.

Arriving at "Spoons" was a disappointment with the place shut today? for refurbishment.

Undeterred we went to the Church café here and enjoyed a coffee and a snack.

We had a good look around a few shops , but bought nowt , before catching the bus back to Keighley, where, late afternoon we finally got our "Spoons" Christmas type lunch.

It was cold and dark when we eventually arrived home at 5p.m.

Birds:-

Only a small camera with me today.

Very quiet with nothing much on the river.

Bird of the day was a distant Kingfisher (spotted by Sue) as we neared the Tennis Club.

It had managed to nab a small fish.

Other than that just a Moorhen, Long Tailed Tits, a Nuthatch, a few Gulls and some other usual stuff.

A Woodpigeon that was sat in the river, not moving, seemed very content with life.

The Moon over Bradshaw this evening.
