I enjoyed my usual walk along the canal and river from Elland bridge to Avocet Works Brookfoot.
The river is full and fast flowing and nothing much seen on it today, a cold but dry afternoon, after a wet mornings shopping.
Great to get the walking boots on and not get wet!
I spent a good while peering through the ski lake fencing:-
Most birds on the ski lake were on the far side with glare from the sun and the usual metal fencing in the road!
With the Drake Goldeneye being particularly awkward!
[ We had a visit to Halifax, yesterday, a dull do. I took the opportunity to look at the trees
by Sainsburys and Wicks and round about but just quite a few Blackbirds noted].
Birds:-
Bullfinch.
3 Mute Swan.
Mallard.
2 Moorhen.
3 Jay.
Many Long Tailed Tits.
Herring, Common and Black Headed Gulls.
C15 Cormorant.
2 Male, 3 Red Headed Goosander.
3 Heron.
Coot.
A distant photo of a small Goldfinch flock revealed a Siskin in among.
Great Crested Grebe.
1 Male , 1 Female Goldeneye Duck.
and..... a few others.
