A very breezy day today, with some brightness as I walked up to Raggalds Flood late morning.
17 Small Gulls was about all there was here.
One Redwing flew low and fast over the Bonnet fields, trying to avoid the worst of the wind.
(Seems scarce for Redwing hereabouts this Autumn).
Late afternoon as I was washing my car, a Sparrowhawk zoomed through the garden.
Brighouse Waxwings.
A Calderdale Birds grapevine, with excellent location instructions, was received from Mike this morning.
After lunch I headed down towards Brighouse for another (was this my fourth or fifth) Waxwing Twitch this autumn?
I had to loiter a bit, once I'd found the right tree, and the birds did appear giving me a long awaited yearly tick.
They fired across the sky, zigzagged into a treetop but soon fired off again!
Fortunately , after a short wait, eleven Waxwing re-appeared and this time stayed 5 minutes or so.
They are really beautiful birds to see, and they look quite majestic as they sit upright in the tree top daring anything to disturb them!
Done well today John. Nice pic's.
