Todmorden to Luddenden Foot Walk

A great day for a walk along the canal today with sunshine and a cool breeze early on - quite warm mid-afternoon.

We caught the 9:30 Bradshaw bus to Halifax (The young bus driver had a senior moment forgetting the route and having to do a slight detour to get back on track!),

Next we caught the bus to Todmorden which took quite a while with a few roadworks slowing the job down.

We had a coffee and a T cake at a Tod. café before heading off along the canal at 11:45.

In Hebden Bridge Sue looked at a few shops, found a nice jumper thingy that she let me buy  her for Christmas (👎) - a good plan because I've no idea what to get her for Christmas.

We listened to a busker / singer singing a Bob Dylan song then a Bob Marley song - he was really good, before heading off along the canal again.

We called at the Blue Teapot for a drink and a bun before walking some more to wait for the bus at Luddenden Foot.

The 574 bus came along and went to Halifax via many, many roads.

We were lucky to catch the Bradshaw bus today, we normally get the Illingworth one and have to leg it home.

Birds:-

Just a small camera with me today - more a walk than a birding outing today.

A Sparrowhawk was seen from the bus as we approached Hebden Bridge.

Goosander.

Jay.

Dipper (Hebden Bridge Co-Op bridge).

Mallard.

Moorhen.

A Green Woodpecker flew over the house at dusk this evening.

Nicked off the web:-

Many years ago we had Bob Hope then a bit late Johnny Cash then later still Steve Jobs.

Now we are bereft of all three - no Hope, No Cash and No Jobs.

I just hope that Kevin Bacon outlives me!
