Ogden Water / Raggalds Flood

Some shopping today included a quick visit to Halifax Aldi.

I took the opportunity to have a look at trees nearby in case any Waxwings should turn up here but just a Mistle Thrush, Collared Dove, Dunnock and a Blackbird were in residence.

Heavy downpours about today including some hail showers, one of which had us sitting in the car on the road above Mixenden reservoir waiting for it to pass.

In the end I took a few distant photos of the reservoir from the car to look at later.

I had a drive over to Ogden mid-afternoon.

I did ok, weather wise,on my Ogden visit but birds were at a premium with just ONE Black Headed Gull on the water on my arrival but c20 Small Gulls were on the water at one point.

One distant photo shows a potential white winged gull species - but it is probably a result of poor photo rather than a mega!!

Birds of the day were Long Tailed Tit with several groups flitting through the waterside trees as I went around.

I had a call at Kelham Farm shop on the home where it was very wet and windy and I stopped opposite Raggalds Flood, the way past.  where there was lots of juice but no birds (yet!).

Birds:-

Goldcrest, Coat Tit, Long Tailed Tit.

Black Headed Gull, Common Gull.

And a few other species.
