Bradshaw - Soil Hill - Ogden - Bradshaw

A long-ish outing late morning, afternoon up Bradshaw Lane then a left up The Ice Rink - Taylor Lane.

Is Taylor Lane the most dangerous winter lane in Calderdale.

Today I had to climb up onto the grass next to the wall banking to get up the B. thing!

I went over Soil Hill main path, over to and around Ogden Water before returning via Back Lane and the farm tracks.

A great day to be out walking and the birds were fairly kind to me today.

Ogden Water was disappointing but the close-by trees did reveal the odd bird!

I usually find that visits in rainy weather reveal more birds along the circuit here.

The cafe was a welcome break and I had a lovely chat with a couple from Pavement Lane as I did the circuit.

Birds:-

Dunnock

22  (7,5,10) Rooks.

Blue & Great Tit.

Little Owl.

Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Herring Gull. (Fields).

Starling Flock.

Red Legged Partridge 12 ( 8,4 ).

Pied Wagtail, Wren, Goldfinch.

2 Kestrel,2 Pheasant.

c25 Small Gulls (Ogden Water).

4 Treecreeper. Robin.

Great Spotted Woodpecker.

The Great Spotted Woodpecker could be heard 'digging' trying to find food under a tree bark but I could not see it.

After I had a long wait, it flew very obligingly (eventually) to a nearby tree.

Cormorant.

Blackbird. Woodpigeon.

Magpie, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw.

Bullfinch.

Goldcrest.

Stonechat.
