I had a free pass today with Sue very busy elsewhere.
A really cracking day weather wise where my birding optimism was shown to be in better shape than my birding ability in the real world.
I walked up Taylor Lane, over Soil Hill, down to the bottom of the North Slope (but not as far as the swamp) retracing my steps back up (grunt, grunt) and then over to Ogden Water.
Here, optimism took over when I decided to trek up to the Giants Tooth (again) where, guess what, I saw nowt (again)!
Back down and around the water was followed by a coffee and choc in the cafe.
Home was back up to Ned Hill Road (grunt) then over Soil Hill and along Percy Rd and down Taylor Lane.
Some kind soul has dropped a Big Mattress with 'accoutrements' at the end of Ned Hill Track. Another kind soul had dropped a complete bath filled with plumbing junk on Syke Lane (what is wrong with these people?).

Yellow Legged Gull:
Below some comparison of my aggressive potential Yellow Legged Gull(?) Primaries with a photo of a Yellow Legged Gull from ebird.org - wondering if my bird is in fact a Yellow Legged Gull.
