I finally caught up with yesterday's Whooper Swans, after doing some gardening (what I promised) late morning, before heading off to Ogden. (Tks to B.S. and C.S ).
The Swans looked quite settled and were still present at 11:41a.m. when I left for home.
I counted 44, 45, and 46 at different view points! Finally settling for 45 birds.
See what you think.
(Some birds asleep next to one another difficult to separate).
I enjoyed a natter with C.S , Pat and Steve while I had a coffee and Twix in the 'cafe' .
(I did not do the circuit here today).
This afternoon the weather changed its clothing from shorts to woolly jumpers and brought out its cold, strong northly wind to show us who is the boss.
The wind certainly did not help my birding-bog-hop up the local fields , a damp, misty outing.
A visit, outside, to the recycling food bin this evening was very, very cold.
Hope the early Sand Martins survive!!!
A nasty accident at sea, on the east coast with Oil or Jet Fuel burning - does not bode well for the East Yorkshire Coast bird population.
Hopefully most of it might burn off or disperse quickly.
Birds:-

45 Whooper Swan.

Thanks for the count John. I only managed a quick look up there today. They are brilliant to see.
