Friday and Saturday.

Friday 11th.

A very hot day today where Sue laundered everything,
bar the lounge carpet (taking advantage of the free al fresco dryer in the sky) .
I helped a bit mainly being 'Peg Bag' top banana operative and read a book looking skyward.

3 Buzzards kicking about and a couple of Swallow with 6 Large Gulls, calling, were probably Lesser Black-backed.
A Linnet called as it flew by.

A walk up the local fields was pretty mundane :-

2 Red Legged Partridge, Mistle Thruch, Linnet fly-by not much else.

Saturday 12th.

I am trying to avoid my birding becoming an obsession rather that an enjoyable 'hobby'.
Recently I identified a Female Linnet as a Twite and once the error was pointed out I felt tremendously deflated for some bizarre reason.

So I am obviously taking the birding job too seriously and today when we went a-bus-riding I left camera and bins at home for a change.

Today we caught the 9:07 a.m. 502 Keighley bus to Crossroads.

Being very early for the B3 bus to Hebden Bridge we passed the time with a Egg Custard and a coffee at the excellent Wildes cafe there.
BUT lateer we shared a Coronation Chicken sandwich  from Liddl and left ice cream alone altogether - well nearly - we found a place along the canal where we got a small Jenny's  Tub.
AND tea was a chicken salad and some fat free yoghurt.
(now where has SHE put  the Chocolate Digestives).

We walked from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden today and it was warm and pleasant.
Lots of bikers which is fine - can't understand why they don't have a bell  and use it.
At one point the canal is very, very low , just a couple of feet - does not look good for Easter cruises?

A few birds did come my way.

Singing Blackcap, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Buzzard high over Todmorden.

Local Fields:-

The usual stroll up the local fields where nothing new was seen.

With the good weather I think the Wheatears have flown straight over here.
When the weather is poor I have a chance that one or two will come down rather than go straight over to Soil Hill - same with the missing Ring Ouzel.

Birds:-

Lesser Black-backed Gull over head.
Stock Dove.
c30 Meadow Pipit.
Curlew called.
Pheasant.
Heron.
2 Swallow.

Buzzard and 2 Swallow over the garden after tea.
