Ogden Common Redstart Twitch and Local Fields

I had a try for DJS's Common Redstart that he reported yesterday afternoon near Carr's beck by Ogden Golf Club.

Another stonking day weatherwise and after we had some 'stuff'  to attend to this morning I was free to leave 2 young ladies half asleep on lie lows in the lounge with Sue needing to 'bacon sandwich' them ...... sometime.

I made a chicken and cranberry sandwich, stuffed it in my rucksack promised to be back 'after lunch'.

I went over Soil Hill, where DP was coming the other way, down to Ogden, across the prom. and left to drop down past the Golf Clubhouse and along the stream.

After some excellent directions by DJS I sat on a hill top scoffing butties and scanning for a Common Redstart but only manged a Common Red Stop!

The way back was by some of the Calderdale Way, Per Lane, Cow Hill Gate Road and Ingham Lane.

I was pretty fatigued when I got home with the afternoon becoming very warm.

Still, an enjoyable 4 hours or so.
