Sue wanted to go on the buses to Skipton today so we caught the 9:07a.m. bus to Keighley.
Knowing this would be a shopping trip rather than 'owt else I left 'my optics' behind.
Things were going smoothly and the Skipton bus duly arrived on time.
C20 People were in the queue but nobody was moving for some reason.
I thought I heard someone say Piston so I thought the bus had an engine fault.
The very polite driver walked along the queue saying "sorry folks this bus is kaput - someone has donated some of their bodily fluid to the bus" - next bus was 35 minutes.
We changed tack and opted to catch the bus to Hebden Bridge instead..... so I should have brought me optics.
After toast and coffee in a Iranian cafe at Hebden we walked to Todmorden along a fairly busy canal.
At Tod. we caught a bus back to Hebden then the K3 Keighley bus towards Crossroads.
However when this bus met some road works traffic lights, just out of Hebden, things went **** up.
Our bus stopped at the red light, traffic came through , then more traffic came through, then more traffic came through and oops - the light turned green but with lots of cars blocking forward movement and cars behind blocking backward movement - we seemed to be up a certain creek bart paddle.
Anyway after waiting 15 minutes a passenger got off our bus , legged it - way, way up the road - to get some cars to go backwards and eventually the bus moved forward.. yipee.
Our Crossroads link bus is every hour so it was a nervous ride to Cross Roads, where we did actually catch the bus.
