Whiteholme and Blackstone Edge Reservoirs

This morning I had (for  me anyway) a long drive out to Blackstone Edge Reservoir, parking by the road.

After a scan of the reservoir showed nothing here, I drove down Turvin Road to park up and walk the good track to Whiteholme Reservoir.

I bumped into AC coming the other way and enjoyed a natter.

At the reservoir I turned right to look at the east side stream.

RK appeared a tad later and I told him I was looking for a path along the north shore.

He took me on a path that allegedly went along the north side of the reservoir, but after walking with him, for a mile or so NE, climbing beyond "The Big Rocks" I  realised I was not where I wanted to be and walked a mile or so back to the reservoir's edge.

I returned along the south side and ,bumped into PS  and then I then went along the west side before turning left at the top and walking the longer circuit back to the White House Pub area.

Quite a tiring outing but very enjoyable and a few  good birds.

I called at White Windows to see Emma on my way home.

A large-ish skein of Pink Footed Geese that were heard, then seen > W - miles off to the south of me - were just about picked out by the camera!

OK So I slipped!!
I am nearly 39 - so a slip is ok.
