Oats Royd – Local Stroll.

A cold day with South West Breeze.

A short stroll to Oats Royd to-day -  allowed a break from the Granddaughters tractor jigsaw.

Bradshaw Park Area:
Greenfinch 3: Goldfinch 11; House Sparrow 2: Robin 5: Starling 6: Blackbird 4: Dunnock: Collard Dove.
Pr. Canada Goose on the small pond below the park – one on its nest.

Oats Royd - Ponds.

Usual 3 residents being upset by the arrival of a pr. Canada Goose. Drake Mallard. Moorhen.

Oats Royd Area.

Goldfinch 4: Blackbird: Jay: Greenfinch 2: Woodpigeon 13: Chaffinch 2: Chiffchaff 4: Blue Tit: Great Tit:
Wren 2: Willow Warbler 2: Kestrel.

Possible Raven overhead but the photo is poor.

On the return journey 2 Linnet on a wall near home and a Mistle Thrush.

This bird looked very large with the naked eye.

  1. Not a bad day at all. The corvid is probably a Carrion Crow; the head is not projecting far enough from the body and the tail is not obviously wedged like a Raven's is.
